Submission Guidelines
We only accept original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under consideration by other journals.
Abstract and keywords:
Submissions should include an abstract of no more than 250 words, along with a maximum of 6 keywords.
Paper Structure, Length and Formatting:
Papers should not exceed 18 pages, including references. Please use A4 paper size, Times New Roman font (size 12), double line spacing, and adhere to the APA 7th edition style. See the Manuscript Structure below:
- Title, abstract, and keywords
- Main body with subthemes, conclusion, and recommendations
- References
- Tables (each with a title and footnotes)
- Figure legends
- Appendices (if applicable)
Online Submission:
Authors are required to submit their papers through our online submission system. Any specific time frames for submissions will be communicated accordingly. Please click the “Submit” button and follow the prompts to complete the submission process.
Author Copies:
Authors will receive a copy of the edition containing their articles where applicable.
No Conflict-of-Interest Statement:
Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest at the point of submission. If there is no conflict of interest among the authors, this should be clearly stated in the No Conflict of Interest Statement. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming agreement with all co-authors regarding the final statement and the final version of the submitted paper.
Plagiarism Policy:
- JSMPA is committed to maintaining high ethical standards through rigorous peer review processes. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, and fraudulent data use are strictly prohibited.
- Manuscripts assembled using artificial intelligence (AI) tools are not accepted. Submissions must be the original work of the authors.
- JSMPA adheres to the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and uses COPE Flowcharts to resolve cases of suspected plagiarism or publication misconduct.
To avoid plagiarism, authors must:
- Ensure that their work is entirely original and appropriately cite or quote the work and/or words of others.
- Not publish manuscripts describing the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is unacceptable.
- Properly acknowledge the work of others by citing influential publications
Language:
Manuscripts should be written in English, with spelling following the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Current English. Authors may provide abstracts in other languages in addition to an English abstract.
Submission Policy:
Only manuscripts meeting JSMPA’s aims and scope will be considered for publication. Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration or published by another journal or publisher. Authors must certify that they are submitting original work, have the rights to the work, and are submitting it for first publication in JSMPA.
Peer Review Process:
- All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process, where both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous.
- The Editor-in-Chief will assign at least two reviewers to evaluate each manuscript based on its originality, relevance, methodological soundness, and overall quality.
- Reviewers’ comments and recommendations will be sent to the corresponding author for necessary revisions. The revised manuscript should be resubmitted within a specified time frame.
- The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript based on the reviewers’ recommendations
Copyright and Open Access:
- Authors retain the copyright of their published articles while granting JSMPA the non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the content.
- JSMPA operates under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-commercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), allowing others to share and adapt the material for non-commercial purposes with appropriate credit to the original work.
Review and publication fees:
Authors are required to pay a non-refundable review fee of N7500 and a publication fee of N25,000 for accepted papers. Payment details are as follows:
