Editorial Policy
Open Access Policy:
Journal of Security Management, Policy, and Administration (JSMPA) is committed to an open access policy, where all published original papers are made freely and openly accessible online. This policy aims to encourage academic and professional use, increase global citation and readership of authors’ work, and serve the interests of the scientific community.
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement:
JSMPA adheres to the highest ethical standards for all parties involved in publishing in a peer-reviewed journal, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher. We follow the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). For more information on COPE guidelines, please visit: https://publicationethics.org/files/u7141/1999pdf13.pdf
JSMPA has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Authors must ensure their submissions are plagiarism-free. Submitted papers undergo a suitability check followed by a plagiarism check using Grammarly’s anti-plagiarism tool. Plagiarized papers will be rejected.
Manuscript Review Process:
Our review process targets quality publication and has a turnaround period of 5-8 weeks. Submitted papers are reviewed by competent reviewers to assess their appropriateness, logical consistency, and suitability for publication. The process involves assigning an editorial board member and an independent reviewer to examine each manuscript’s content. Decisions on acceptance, amendment, or rejection are based on editorially informed recommendations.
To maintain objectivity and fairness, authors’ names and affiliations are concealed from reviewers during the review process. Submit a separate cover page with full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID for all contributors. Submissions from JSMPA editorial board members are subject to the same review process. Manuscripts containing defamatory language will be rejected. The JSMPA Editorial Board reserves the right to reject any manuscript deemed unsuitable for publication.
Withdrawal, Retraction, and Correction Policies:
- Withdrawal Policy: To withdraw a manuscript, submit a letter to the JSMPA editorial office explaining the reasons. If a withdrawal request is made within 12 days of submission, no withdrawal fee is required. Withdrawals after the review and acceptance stages will incur a fee.
- Corrections: PDF galley proofs are sent to the corresponding author for proofreading before publication to ensure quality assurance. Post-publishing corrections are published in subsequent journal issues under “Corrections and Addendum” if publication information is significantly affected.
- Retractions: Papers may be retracted when necessary.
By adhering to these editorial policies, JSMPA strives to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and quality in its publications.
